Barnabas
Barnabas Ministries Africa is a charity founded in 1989. Seeing children sick and hungry, families suffering extreme privation, Barnabas Ministries Africa was born to address these needs and to provide a support network to the churches and individuals working in various ways in Africa. Programmes supported include: Child Education Sponsorship; Feeding programmes; Rural schools; Nomadic people groups; Christian leaders family sponsorship; and Church leaders training through linking with the School Of Ministries International organisation in Southampton. The New Life Home Trust is an arm of Barnabas Ministries that takes in abandoned and orphaned HIV babies, they currently have five homes in Kenya, one of which is in Kisumu, the area in which TKWL is working.
The money we give is directed towards a pioneer work in the Koreni Refugee camp in the Lamu district of Kenya. It is divided between the worker, Peter Johnson Katumu and the support of the children’s work amongst the refugees. The refugee camp is for displaced Kenyans who have been affected by tribal clashes. Peter, (who has been working with another team worker Richard), has been in the camp since April in developing the Community programme. Peter will be leaving soon to continue with a new ministry but our donations will continue to be directed towards this work and to help support Richard.
Pray for Clive and Mary Beckenham who head up this valuable organisation and also for Peter and Richard
